Automatic Parsing of Icelandic Texts
The goal of this project was to build software for automatic syntactic parsing of Icelandic texts, which could then be used as a component in commercial tools like grammar checkers. Context-sensitive Spell Checking
is a cooperative project between Eiríkur Rögnvaldsson, Hrafn Loftsson and Sigrún Helgadóttir. The purpose of the project is to investigate and develop methods for context-sensitive spell checking of Icelandic texts by investigating word patterns, syntactic patterns, and collocations, making use of frequency information, and employing statistical models. A Grammatical Tagger for Icelandic
A collaborative project between the Institute of Lexicography and the Icelandic NLP Group. The goal of the project was to train a grammatical tagger on Icelandic texts. The project was founded by the LangTec Fund and finished in 2003. For further information contact Sigrún Helgadóttir.

Hjal
A joint project of the University of Iceland and four commercial companies (Iceland Telecom, Hex Software, Nýherji and TrackWell). The purpose of the project was to collect material for training an Icelandic speech recognizer. This material is now based at the ICLT. Icelandic Text Screening
is a joint project of Spurl.net and the Department of Lexicography at the Árni Magnússon Institute of Icelandic Studies. The goal of the project is to find and classify items in running text, especially various types of named entities. Icelandic Wordnet
A research project with the aim of analyzing and describing semantic relations between Icelandic words and phrases and classifying the vocabulary according to the semantic properties of individual words. Improved Tagging Accuracy of Icelandic Text
is a cooperative project between Hrafn Loftsson, Eiríkur Rögnvaldsson,and Sigrún Helgadóttir. The purpose of this project is to research and develop methods for improving tagging accuracy of Icelandic texts. The objective is to build two kinds of taggers, suited for different purposes. ÍS-TAL: Corpus of Spoken Icelandic
A joint project of seven researchers from three institutions (the Institute of Lexicography, the University of Iceland, and the Iceland University of Education). The goal of the project was to establish a corpus of spoken Icelandic containing approximately 20 hours of naturally occurring conversations. Morphological Database of Icelandic
The Morphological Database of Icelandic was compiled by the Institute of Lexicography. The goal of the project was to build a database containing the active vocabulary of Icelandic in all inflectional forms. Ragga
was a joint project of the University of Iceland, Iceland Telecom, and Hex Software, in cooperation with Nuance (formerly ScanSoft). The purpose of the project was to build a new text-to-speech system for Icelandic. The project was supported by the LangTec Fund and finished in 2006. A Rule-Based Tagger for Icelandic
is a part of Hrafn Loftsson's doctoral dissertation. The goal of the project is to build a rule-based morphological tagger for Icelandic and to use heuristics to reach maximum tagging accuracy. For further information contact Hrafn Loftsson.

A Shallow Parser for Icelandic
is a cooperative project between Eiríkur Rögnvaldsson, Hrafn Loftsson and Sigrún Helgadóttir and is a part of Hrafn's research for his doctoral dissertation. The goal of the project is to use finite-state methods to perform shallow parsing of Icelandic texts according to a specially designed parsing scheme. A Tagged Corpus of Icelandic
A project at the Institute of Lexicography whose goal is to build a 25 million word corpus of Modern Icelandic texts from various genres. The project is founded by the LangTec Fund and  will finish in 2008. For further information contact Sigrún Helgadóttir.

Translation Software for Translation from Icelandic to English
is a project of Alnet ehf. The goal of the project is to build tranlation software that can deliver correct translations from Icelandic to English. Web Based Icelandic Inflection
was a joint project of Spurl.net and the Department of Lexicography at the Árni Magnússon Institute of Icelandic Studies.
